Rivka Schafer (they/them) is a queer, non-binary orthodox Jew and a passionate climate activist. They are from Teaneck, NJ and are a graduating senior in the Idea School.  Through their depictions of sexuality, religion, and nature, Rivka shares their coming-out journey and desire for global change. Their paintings use Jewish iconography, nature, and vivid color in a neo-expressionist style and their photography features colorful close-up photos of wild animals. Rivka hopes that by sharing their art, they will inspire viewers to create a more sustainable and equitable world.
