Rebecca Miranda is a graduating senior from the Idea School in Tenafly, NJ. She has always been an artist ever since she could hold a crayon. As she’s matured, art has become a central pillar of her life in a profound way.
Art has helped her appreciate the smallest things because an artist must apprehend even the details of our magnificent universe in order to create art at all. As a Jew who lives by and wrestles with Jewish belief, Rebecca believes that God is an artist. Nature, humanity, the ephemeral, and the universe were God’s art that eventually enabled the artist’s art. The artist merely manipulates the God-given reality and morphs it into a provocation for the viewer.
