Maxine Lee Ewaschuk

Maxine Lee Ewaschuk is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, where she researches performance in Orthodox Jewish girlhood for the Bais Yaakov Project. She received extensive training in classical ballet and contemporary dance, and is interested in the role of aesthetics in ritual and religious experience. Maxine has been involved in organizing gatherings for Jewish artists of colour around North America with PRISM. She has been a Fellow in the Drisha Summer Kollel for the last two years, and her Torah learning informs her visual arts practice, mainly consisting of textile work and painting.
