I started taking photographs while living in Chicago in the early 90's. I was working at a one hour photo shop that also sold cameras and we were encouraged to bring them home from time to time in order to get familiar with their features. Seeing hundreds of images every day really helped me get an eye for what I liked in a photograph. My sister gave me her old manual Pentax and I started taking pictures all the time! Since then I have experimented with different equipment, subjects, mediums and presentations which has all been a great learning experience. Currently I'm lucky enough to live in a community that really embraces the arts. It has allowed me to grow and meet many other creative people to collaborate with and derive inspiration from. I am a constant observer and my camera is an extension of that, it allows me to record what I see, to capture what I find beautiful, and share what I notice about the simplest things that makes our world so special. I love to share these images I have captured and connect to others through them. To me that's the best thing about art!
